Seidnaya, the
kalamoun's diamond...a historical and tourist town, located at the
southern side of the kalamoun mountains overlook to wide plane,
which surrounded by by hills represent the great history and
civilization that passed by.
| Seidnaya is
considered a holy gift blessed by by GOD which became the
destination for beleivers and a place must visit from all over the
world, in addition to the moderate atmosphere, pure water and fresh
air.

historical studies approved that: there is no place has as many
churchs and convents as Seidnaya has in the Cham area, there are
over fourty shrines, the most important of them at all is Seidnaya
convent which considered to be the second religious place after
Jerusalem in the visitors number to holy places in the
east...
The convent
located on a high hill overlook the town, and has an
interesting library where kept valuable scripts declare the
building date for the convent 547 A.D, by the byzantanian emperor
YOSTANIOUS THE FIRST.
The convent
contains 365 rooms destinguish among them "THE SHAGHOURA SHRINE" it
is a dark room ever lite with oil and candlers, a complex ceilling
with oil lights huging from it , at the eastern wall you can see a
silver bars behind i a small sculpted hole contains one of the
four origional icons of VIRSION MARY drawn by LUKE THE
MISSIONER,
Many old
books has stories about this mysterious icon and its effects
on people.

of the great monasteries that found in the town is the
monastery of

| syriac
MAR APHRAM, which considered as an international centre for
syriac studies. It is also an international centre for
Orthodox Syria religious education, it was found by his
majesty Mar Agnatiues Zaka Iewas the first, the Patriark of
antakia and all the orient for Orthodox Syriac. His majesty
had opened this monastery at 14/9/1996.

Church all over the world, as well as the centre for the
international Syriac studies.
Seidnaya is
an important archological area and terrific destination for toursits
